The project of Istanbul-born, now London-based Bilge Nur Yilmaz, Tendertwin is a forager for half-lived stories. Nurtured transatlantic, her distinctive voice subtly soaks up Turkey’s rich musical heritage from the lapping tides of the Black Sea and Mediterranean, filtering it through drifting time spent in Philadelphia, Oxford, and London.

Her music blends alternative folk with experimental elements, weaving landscapes into ambient textures, wrong-footing melodies, and unpredictable arrangements. With subtle allusions to the likes of Fiona Apple, Linda Perhacs, and Sharon Van Etten, her storytelling is centered around a voice both delicate and arresting.

Tendertwin’s debut EP, Ship Argo, explores themes of displacement, identity, and belonging through a distinct sonic lens. She has landed support from BBC Radio 6 Music, Apple Music, Line of Best Fit, CMU, Amazing Radio, BBC Radio Scotland, Clash, and Brooklyn Vegan, alongside festival appearances at The Great Escape and Left of the Dial. Beyond her solo work, she has collaborated with the Roundhouse Music Collective and is a Resident Artist at The Roundhouse.
