BrukBoogieKru » Ruben Estevez | DJ SEL

A collective of true music lovers, Dj’s and producers pushing the boundaries and sharing sounds from genres such as Broken Beat, Future Jazz, Latin Jazz, Afrobeat, Deep House and Bossa.

Heavily influenced by the London dance music and clubbing scene of the last 30 years, BBK have played in various spots around the globe including South & West Africa, Japan, Brazil, Turkey and throughout Europe.

Full of curiosity and passion they present a new fusion of Afro-futuristic music, a melting pot of vibrant, energetic beats designed to make you dance.

Founder, Ruben, has a history of organising and performing at various large scale events, from the Drum & Bass parties of the 90s 1994 - which saw him collaborate with and play alongside artists such as Calibre, Photek ,Goldie, Dj Marky, Kemistry and Storm , Bailey and more to the Mytique Co-Op parties in London in the 2000s, where he explored and developed his passion for London's Broken Beat sound and Afro-futuristic music!

The West London scene was instrumental in pushing him into making his own music and gave life to the project now known as BrukBoogieKru aka BBK. Together with partner DJ SEL, the crew, based in Lausanne and London have shared festival and club night line ups with the likes of Bugz In The Attic, Afronaught, Phil Asher, Zepherin Saint, Jazz Refreshed, Mighty Zaf, Rainer Trüby, Atjazz, Mark de Clive-lowe, Alex Attias, Osunlade, Simbad, Karizma, Louie Vega, Shuya Okino and Gilles Peterson.
