MUSIC AT WILD CANVAS 2025
Live Performances
TENDERTWIN
Saturday 9 August
—
The project of Istanbul-born, now London-based Bilge Nur Yilmaz, Tendertwin is a forager for half-lived stories. Nurtured transatlantic, her distinctive voice subtly soaks up Turkey’s rich musical heritage from the lapping tides of the Black Sea and Mediterranean, filtering it through drifting time spent in Philadelphia, Oxford, and London. Her music blends alternative folk with experimental elements, weaving landscapes into ambient textures, wrong-footing melodies, and unpredictable arrangements. With subtle allusions to the likes of Fiona Apple, Linda Perhacs, and Sharon Van Etten, her storytelling is centered around a voice both delicate and arresting.
Tendertwin’s debut EP, Ship Argo, explores themes of displacement, identity, and belonging through a distinct sonic lens. She has landed support from BBC Radio 6 Music, Apple Music, BBC Radio Scotland and festival appearances at The Great Escape.
ELLE De LANÉE
Saturday 16 August
—
Elle de Lanée is a London-based vocalist and composer who explores the realms of jazz through a modern lens of spiritual and contemporary influences including the likes of Norma Winstone, Pharoah Saunders and Gretchen Parlato. Embedded in intention and feeling, Elle’s sonic world aims to paint auditory landscapes for the listener by using a unique intervallic melodic language and texture in her arrangements.
In a full-circle moment, Elle returns to her Midlands-rooted-beginnings for this performance, joining forces with a handpicked ensemble of musicians from across Northamptonshire. Drawing on shared histories, community, and a deep musical kinship, this collaboration promises to bridge her London-honed sound with the richness of the local scene that first shaped her. Expect an intimate yet expansive set that reflects both where Elle’s music has come from — and where it’s headed.
