SUMMER OF PLAY

Make the most of the great outdoors with our fun and active outdoor activities, which will include Stand up Paddle Boarding (SUP).

As well as paid sessions there are also ‘on-the-spot’ arts, crafts and other fun activities offered throughout the camp on an impromptu basis, look out for these on the activities notice boards. The activity program is quieter in the week and fuller on weekends. 

Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP)

We are delighted to offer Stand up Paddleboarding (SUP) activities to compliment your Wild Canvas camping experience at Coppey Moor Cottage. Established in 2017, Just Paddle is a small business dedicated to providing and coaching paddle sports to individuals and groups in Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas. This 1.5 hour activity, will cover the basics of the equipment and coaching in fundamental paddle strokes and techniques.

SUPER HERO FANCY DRESS KIDS DISCO

Calling all super heroes out for a Sunday afternoon of fancy dress fun around the campsite, bringing that splash of energy and colour only the supers can bring. Bring your finest outfits, get creative, everyone is welcome for this spectacular fancy dress hang out and kids disco.

The Batizado school of Capoiera are back at Wild Canvas to demonstrate and workshop this distinct martial art from Brazil.

Kid’s Nature Club with Outdoor Doug

From firelighting to fox walking, this is a chance for young campers to have fun and connect with nature; learning some wilderness skills and celebrating their place within it. The classes are lead by our very own Outdoor Doug who has been running outdoor events and nature connection activities for over 10 years. Suitable for all ages and parents are welcome to join.

MAKERS HUB

From wood block printing to lettering, from puppet making to landscape drawing, embrace your creativity in our Makers Hub. 

WORKSHOPS BY RESIDENT ARTIST MR DANE

Resident creative Mr Dane will be running a series of workshops at various times throughout the summer including; see below.

Sign Painting, Lettering and Poster Making | £10

(1 hr, Ages 5+, max 10 participants, price includes one accompanying adult)

Explore words and lettering in a fun family workshop. Using child-friendly materials, water-based inks and paints. Exploring lettering with colour, creativity and some contemporary and traditional painting techniques, create a poster, a sign or artwork that boldly says something to take home with you. Children under 10 should be accompanied.
In the event you have nothing to bring, you can pick up a tote bags and print your designs.
Children under 10 need to be accompanied by an adult.

T-Shirt Printing | £10

(1 hr, Ages 5+, max 10 places, price includes one accompanying adult)

Find inspiration and have a go at creating a colourful tee shirt on the spot, which is wearable immediately for the campsite promenades. Bring your favourite T-Shirt or or hoodie, or even a dish cloth.
In the event you have nothing to bring, you can pick up a tote bags and print your designs.
Children under 10 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Graffiti Mural (ALL AGES)

Drop-in and take part in creating a giant sized graffiti wall using various techniques. All ages and abilities welcome.
